# Slark Slark is a cunning and evasive aquatic assassin whose survival instincts are matched only by his ruthless pragmatism. A sole survivor of an impossible escape, he operates from the shadows with lethal precision. ## Background Dark Reef serves as an infamous underwater detention facility, a sprawling prison designed to contain the most dangerous denizens of the seas. The sunken labyrinth houses an assortment of violent criminals—murderous slithereen, deceitful Deep Ones, and sociopathic meranths—all kept in check by prowling eels and formidable anemone guardians. Few who arrive at Dark Reef ever leave alive. Slark's original offense and circumstances remain obscure, but his imprisonment within the fortress marked the beginning of an isolated existence defined by suspicion and savagery. Over many years, he survived through calculated stealth and cold-blooded pragmatism, revealing nothing of his thoughts or intentions to fellow inmates. When the legendary Dark Reef Dozen engineered their breakout plot, they executed those who might compromise their secrecy. Yet Slark, employing his characteristic cunning, uncovered the scheme and infiltrated their ranks. During the subsequent escape attempt, the conspiracy collapsed catastrophically—ten conspirators perished in the chaos, while two were recaptured and executed before the general population. Slark alone seized the opportunity provided by the pandemonium, slipping through the mayhem undetected. He became the only successful escapee from Dark Reef, establishing himself within the carnivorous mangrove wetlands that characterize the southern Shadeshore region, where he continues his furtive existence beyond the reach of his former captors.

  • Dark Pact: After a short delay, Slark sacrifices some of his life blood, purging most negative debuffs and dealing damage to enemy units around him and to himself. Slark only takes %self_damage_pct%%% of the damage. DISPEL TYPE: Strong Dispel
  • Pounce: Slark leaps forward, leashing and applying Essence Shift stacks to the first hero he connects. That unit can only move a limited distance away from Slark's landing position.
  • Saltwater Shiv: Slark slices the target with his salty shiv, stealing a portion of the target's movement speed, Health Regen and Health Restoration.<br><br>These effects stack independently.
  • Depth Shroud (Passive): Creates a cloud at the target location. All allies inside the radius are hidden and affected by Shadow Dance.
  • Essence Shift: Slark steals the life essence of enemy heroes with his attacks, draining %stat_loss% of each of their attributes and converting them to bonus %agi_gain% Agility. If Slark kills an affected enemy hero, he permanently steals %stat_loss% Agility.
  • Shadow Dance: When not visible to the enemy team, Slark passively gains bonus movement speed and health regeneration. If Slark is damaged by a neutral unit, the passive movement and health regeneration bonuses are lost for %neutral_disable% seconds.<br><br>When activated, Slark hides himself in a cloud of shadows, becoming immune to detection. Attacking, casting spells, and using items will not reveal Slark, but enemies can see the cloud itself.
